(HARBOR BEACH) — The streets in downtown Harbor Beach will be closed next Saturday, August 13 for “Ag Venture Day.” All types of agriculture and farm equipment will fill the streets along with farm related activities for adults and children, alike. Officials say many local farmers and agribusinesses are donating their equipment and time for the event in hopes that those in attendance gain an understanding of what it takes to provide a safe and affordable food source. Some of the days activities include the Storm the Beach 5K and Farm Fit obstacle course, kiddie tractor pulls, kids games, and live music. Beef and dairy farm tours start at 10 a.m. with buses leaving Harbor Beach at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., Noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Buses will depart from the city parking lot on Water Street. The Harbor Beach Theatre will be showing a free documentary called “Farmland” with shows at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The events are free, thanks to generous sponsors.
