BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Kewby Meyer tripled and singled, and Blake Bivens allowed just two hits over six innings as the Bowling Green Hot Rods topped the West Michigan Whitecaps 5-2 on Tuesday. Bivens (6-3) picked up the win after he struck out six and walked two while allowing one run. West Michigan started the scoring in the second inning. After leading off the inning with a double, Arvicent Perez scored on an error. Bowling Green answered in the bottom of the frame, taking the lead for good when Manny Sanchez homered to bring home Michael Russell and Meyer. The Hot Rods later tacked on a run in both the fifth and sixth innings. In the fifth, Zacrey Law hit an RBI single, while Meyer hit an RBI triple in the sixth. Eudis Idrogo (4-4) went 5 2/3 innings, allowing five runs and seven hits in the Midwest League game. He also struck out eight and walked one. Roel Ramirez gave up one run in three innings and recorded his third save of the season.
