(MARLETTE) — Marlette graduate Hunter McGinnis has been awarded the Terry and Jackie Reid Scholarship through the Sanilac County Community Foundation. Hunter was the Salutatorian of his class, graduating with high honors. He was a member of NHS, student council, and during his senior year, served as class vice-president. Along with the academics, he was involved in many extra-curricular activities. Hunter will attend both Delta College and Ferris State University where he will pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. The Terry and Jackie Reid Scholarship was created in tribute to the Reids for their significant, positive influence on countless students across the Thumb. Terry Reid was a longtime Marlette basketball coach, teacher, and athletics administrator. Sandusky graduate Caroline Ross received the Shelby Sanderson Combs Scholarship. Caroline was the Salutatorian of her class and participated in NHS, student council, and athletics while attending Sandusky High School. She also participated in Food-4-Friends, Toys for Kids, and Flags of Remembrance. Caroline will be attending Alma College where she will play tennis and study business/pre-law.
