Abdullah, Istler pitch Great Lakes to 7-1 win over Lansing

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Imani Abdullah allowed just two hits over five innings, and Andrew Istler was also effective on the mound, as the Great Lakes Loons shut down the Lansing Lugnuts in a 7-1 win on Monday. Abdullah (3-4) allowed one run while striking out three and walking one to pick up the win. Great Lakes started the scoring with a big second inning, when it crossed the plate for four runs, including a single by Saige Jenco that scored Logan Landon. The Loons later added single runs in the third, fourth and seventh innings to secure the victory. Angel Perdomo (3-7) went 4 2/3 innings, allowing six runs and eight hits in the Midwest League game. He also struck out four and walked three.
