EASTLAKE, Ohio (AP) — Trevor Foss allowed just two hits over seven innings, leading the Lake County Captains over the West Michigan Whitecaps in a 2-1 win on Monday. Foss (2-1) allowed one run while striking out five to pick up the win. Lake County broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the sixth when Willi Castro and Jodd Carter scored on an error. West Michigan answered in the next half-inning when David Gonzalez hit an RBI single, bringing home Jose Zambrano to get within one. Spenser Watkins (4-2) went eight innings, allowing two runs and six hits to take the hard-luck loss in the Midwest League game. He also struck out eight and walked one. Leandro Linares pitched two scoreless innings for his third save of the season.
