Thousands in heroin seized from two traffic stops in Port Huron area

(PORT HURON) — St. Clair County Drug Task Force officers seized a large amount of heroin during raids Monday night and Tuesday afternoon in the Port Huron area. Sheriff Tim Donnellon says an investigation into the sales of narcotics led to a pair of traffic stops. The first took place in the Griswold Street area Monday night and the second in Port Huron Township on Lapeer Road Tuesday. After searching both vehicles, a total of $14,500 worth of heroin was located by officers, along with $500 worth of cocaine, $100 in analog pills, a large amount of cash, drug paraphernalia and a digital scale. Three men from Detroit, St. Clair, and Fort Gratiot and a woman from Port Huron were arrested and are expected to face charges including possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, and habitual offender. Port Huron Police and U.S. Border Patrol, along with their K-9’s, assisted in the investigation.
