(LENOX TOWNSHIP) — The body of a 38-year-old woman has been found in the driver’s seat of her car behind a home in Macomb County’s Lenox Township. The person of interest in the homicide case has been arrested. Sheriff’s officials say the homeowner called 9-1-1 about 8 a.m. Tuesday. The woman’s name was not released, but the sheriff’s office says she lived in nearby Macomb Township. Her 36-year-old boyfriend was arrested Tuesday afternoon after leading police officers on a chase in Lapeer County. He crashed the vehicle he was driving on eastbound I-69 near Wilder Road and was taken into custody. The sheriff’s office says a shot was fired at police and a pedestrian during the pursuit. No one was struck by the gunfire. Weapons were found in his vehicle. An investigation continues.
