(MARLETTE TOWNSHIP) — A rear end crash in Sanilac County’s Marlette Township sent two people to the hospital Saturday afternoon around 3 p.m. According to Sheriff’s deputies, an 18-year-old Peck woman was traveling south on M-53 in a Jeep when she failed to yield, striking the back of a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old Clifford man who was attempting to turn left into the Hill Top Gas Station. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and deputies say alcohol was not a factor in the crash. They were transported to Marlette Regional Hospital by Marlette EMS for treatment. The driver of the Jeep was issued a citation for following to close. Deputies were assisted on scene by Marlette EMS and Marlette Fire.
