(MARINE CITY) — St. Clair County Drug Task Force officers raided a doctor’s office in downtown Marine City Tuesday morning seizing files, cash, guns, and vehicles. Sheriff Tim Donnellon says the investigation into the illegal distribution of schedule two narcotics started with a traffic stop on a West Virginia plated vehicle by Marine City Police. The driver of the vehicle was in possession of numerous prescriptions from a Marine City doctor. The Drug Task Force and Drug Enforcement Administration obtained a warrant and searched the office and the doctor’s home across the street. The physician, a 50-year old man, was not immediately charged. The files seized have been turned over to the DEA for review. Authorities believe that the doctor was prescribing pills to patients from all over Michigan, as well as several other states.
