It was a busy Labor Day weekend for Sanilac County Sheriff’s deputies. Central dispatch received 527 calls for service, with deputies handling 147 complaints ranging from breaking and entering to traffic policing and accidents. Deputies made nine arrests, performed 103 traffic stops, issued 15 citations, as well as many verbal warnings. Sanilac County corrections officials booked 16 subjects into the jail, stemming from arrests by Deputies and other police agencies from throughout the county. The marine division was also busy on the Lake Huron waterways this past weekend in both the Port Sanilac and Lexington Harbors. They conducted marine patrols and responded to several water assist calls. There were no water-related injuries, and no violations or citations were issued.
