(CROSWELL) — For the second time in less than a week, a member of the Croswell-Lexington school board has resigned. Board secretary Laurie Ebner resigned at Tuesday’s board meeting. Last Wednesday, board president John Sprowl resigned.
The board plans to fill both vacancies at its regular meeting on Tuesday, September 20th. School district residents who are interested in filling the vacancies are asked to submit a letter of application to interim superintendent Charles Smith before 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15th. The two appointees will serve until the results of the November 6th election have been certified and the newly elected individuals are sworn-in to fill the remainder of the term.
Ebner had been one of four board members who are targeted for recall in the November election. Sprowl did not file to run for a new term. Eleven candidates have filed to run in the election.
