A number of area law enforcement agencies are joining the Drug Enforcement Administration this Saturday for National Drug Take Back Day. The semiannual event gives residents an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by safely disposing of expired, unused or unwanted drugs. Liquids, inhalers or syringes will not be accepted. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office, located at 65 North Elk Street in Sandusky, the Huron County Sheriff’s Office at 120 South Heisterman Street in Bad Axe, and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department at 1170 Michigan Road in Port Huron. Unwanted prescription pills can also be turned in at the Michigan State Police Caro and Lapeer Posts this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
