Sanilac County Sheriff Deputies are seeking information on a possible hit and run accident that occurred Monday afternoon between 1:30 and 2:15 p.m. in Sanilac County’s Moore Township. 68-year old Wayne Roberts, a long-time Sandusky Cross-Country Coach, was found lying in the ditch on Freiburger Road, south of Snover Road, with significant injuries to his head. He was transported to McKenzie Health System then later flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw for treatment. Roberts, who has ran every day for many years, was jogging on Freiburger Road wearing a bright orange and gray jacket, black jogging pants and gray tennis shoes. Any drivers that may have seen him running between Snover Road and Smeckert Road during this time are asked to contact the Sanilac County Sheriff Department.
