(Worth Township) – At approximately 7:40 A.M. Monday morning, Sanilac Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting a two vehicle accident involving a school bus on Galbraith Line Road, east of Wildcat Road in Worth Township. According to Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies
, a 16-year-old female from Croswell driving a 2006 Dodge Ram was westbound on Galbraith Line Road. She failed to yield for a stopped Croswell Lexington School Bus driven by a 55-year-old Lexington woman that had just finished picking up students.
The bus’s flashing lights were activated and it was still stopped on the roadway when it was rear-ended by the full size Dodge Ram. The driver of the pickup stated she was paying attention to the vehicle behind her and did not see the school bus. The bus had thirty-three students plus the driver at the time of the crash and no one was injured. The pick-up truck’s airbags deployed and both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The driver’s information is being withheld pending further investigation.
Sanilac County Deputies were assisted at the scene by Croswell Police, Croswell Fire, Burtchville Fire and Croswell EMS.
