Drug Take Back program successful

(Sandusky)- The October 22nd D.E.A. sponsored Drug Take Back initiative resulted in a collection of five pounds of medication and pills dropped off at the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office lobby. Since April, another 36 pounds has been dropped off or picked up by Drug Task Force members for a total turnover to D.E.A. of 41 pounds of expired or unused pills. The DTF will continue pickup of pills no longer needed by calling the Drug Task Force at 810-648-4580 or they may be dropped off safely at the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office lobby by making contact with the Corrections Division service window. The Drug Task Force is grateful for the participation by residents of Sanilac County and their continuing efforts to prevent drugs from getting into the hands of those that it was not intended for. The removal in this manner also prevents the medications from going into our water and eco systems.
