(Watertown Township) – A 32-year old Carsonville woman and her two young children escaped serious injury following a rollover accident Tuesday morning, just east of Sandusky.
Lt. Charlene Washkevich of the Sanilac County Sheriff department said Shannon Thivierge was traveling eastbound on E. Sanilac Road, near Orval Drive around 8 a.m. when she heard a loud noise and immediately lost steering control of her vehicle.
The Buick minivan rolled over in to a ditch on the driver’s side, trapping Thivierge inside the vehicle. All three victims were treated on the scene and refused transport by EMS.
Police said seatbelts were being used and alcohol was not a factor in the accident. Assisting at the scene were Sandusky Fire and Rescue, Sanilac EMS and Sandusky police.
