Marlette Regional Hospital is pleased to announce they are among 77 Michigan hospitals recognized by iVantage Health Analytics and the National Organization of State Office of Rural Health (NOSORH) for performance leadership in 2016. This recognition reflects top rated performance among more than 4,000 rural hospitals nationwide.
The rankings have been designated by the Hospital Strength INDEX™, the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of hospital performance. This data-driven program is designed to identify excellence across a broad spectrum of indicators relevant to hospital performance and patient care, and patient satisfaction feedback is also analyzed for its findings.
Marlette Regional Hospital was recognized for excellence in patient outcomes, which reviews patient safety protocols, hospital readmission rates, and mortality rates. Marlette Regional Hospital was also recognized for excellence in patient satisfaction, which reviews HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) survey responses. HCAHPS (pronounced “H-caps”) measures patients’ perceptions of their hospital experience and their willingness to recommend the hospital to a friend.
Michael Topchik, National Leader of the Chartis Center for Rural Health comments, “The 2016 Performance Excellence Award recipients demonstrate stronger overall performance on the Hospital Strength INDEX than their rural peers across the country, scoring nearly 15 points above the national median.”
