(Melvin) Sanilac County sheriff deputies are seeking information to an incident in the Village of Melvin Friday evening that led to several homes and businesses being damaged by vandals.
According to Sgt. Matthew Armstrong, deputies responded to Melvin shortly after 6 p.m. after homeowners reported windows being shot out. Some of the homeowners were home at the time of the incidents and reported seeing a suspect passenger vehicle traveling west on Galbraith Line from Melvin.
Evidence from four homes and two businesses, all on the north side of the road, were gathered by deputies who later determined several thousand dollars worth of damage had been done by a BB gun.
At approximately the same time, similar types of reports were called in to Central Dispatch from Brown City residents. Officers from Brown City police department are handling those complaints.
