With extremely cold temperatures expected for the foreseeable future, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Animal Control and Sanilac County Animal Control are offering free straw to those who need assistance. Sheriff Tim Donnellon said dog owners unable to bring their pets inside can receive free straw to help insulate dog houses.
Sanilac County Animal Control Officer James Mattson said he has food and straw in his truck and if anyone needs help to call the shelter and leave a message. For more information in St. Clair County, call 1-810-984-3155. Sanilac County residents seeking help can call 1-810-648-4831.
