Accidents send three to hospital

(Marion Township) – A 23-year old Sandusky man sustained injuries in a one-vehicle rollover accident this morning. According to Sanilac County Sheriff Deputy Josh Horst, a Ford Explorer driven by Jacob Puzar was southbound on Maplegrove Road in Marion Township around 5:30 a.m. when he hit a patch of ice, crossed into the northbound lane and went into a ditch and rolled over.
Puzar was trapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated by Deckerville fire department personnel and was transported to Deckerville Hospital by Sanilac EMS. Alcohol was not a factor and police said Puzar was wearing his seatbelt.
Also on Monday, two elderly Kimball Township women sustained injuries in a two-car accident today near Port Huron. According to the St. Clair County Sheriff department, a 35-year old Port Huron Township man drove through a red light at the corner of Range and Ravenswood Roads in Kimball Township, striking another vehicle around 11 a.m.
The women, a 70-year old driver and her 72-year old passenger, were injured when their vehicle was struck. According to witnesses, the man drove through the red light, where his vehicle was struck by a Dodge Journey. The women were transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to McLaren Port Huron Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The driver of the Grand Prix refused treatment at the scene and was issued a citation for disobeying a traffic signal causing the crash.
