Airport board raises rent

The Sandusky Aeronautical Board held a special meeting earlier this month in an effort to discuss several topics, including expansion of hangars and increasing the hangar rent. Considerable talks have been held in recent meetings while the board considers the addition of hangars and leasing of property to a private individual.
According to minutes of the meeting, the board felt the proposed 10-hangar expansion that has been considered was going to be cost-prohibitive. They will look at plans for an 8-hangar expansion, and the possibility of moving existing hangars, some time next year.
The amount of rent that is currently collected was discussed, and after investigating rates at the Bad Axe and Marlette airports, the Sandusky board voted to increase the rate from $115 a month to $125 a month beginning in January.
