Three Sandusky people injured in accident
A 28-year old Sandusky woman is among those injured in an accident Saturday in Oakland County where police believe alcohol may have been a factor. Four people were injured in the crash, including her two children. Rescue crews responded to the crash on Lapeer Road near Oakwood Road in Oxford Township about 12:15 a.m. The unidentified Sandusky woman was southbound in the northbound lanes when she hit a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Oxford Township woman, according to police.
The Two people were able to escape the teen’s vehicle after it flipped over and caught fire. The Oxford Township woman was taken to McLaren Lapeer before being airlifted to Royal Oak Beaumont where she is in critical condition. The Sandusky woman, and her 7-year-old son and a 5-year-old daughter, were transported to Royal Oak Beaumont for treatment of serious injuries.
Both children were in child restraint seats. A search warrant for a blood draw of the driver was obtained and results are pending.
