The 2017 Sanilac County Board of Commissioners held their organizational meeting Tuesday afternoon, naming District 3 Commissioner John Hoffman as their new Chairman. He replaces Justin Faber who recently completed his four-year term on the board. Veteran board member District 1 Commissioner Dan Dean was elected as Vice-Chairman. The meeting was also the first for District 2 Commissioner Gary Heberling, District 4 Commissioner Bob Conley and District 5 Commissioner Paul Muxlow. All three men recently won elections to those positions.
In other board news, the Commissioners approved a resolution seeking a $23,355 loan from the Michigan Community Block Grant Program for 3 Vines North, LLC. If awarded the grant, the Lexington area business will use the funding for upgrading equipment and the hiring of part-time employees.
