Four players scored in double figures to spark the Marlette Red Raiders to their 8th consecutive win, a 71-42 romp over laker. Ethan McKenney paced the winners with 14 points, Bryce George added 13 points and had eight rebounds while Isaac Dale and Sean Quade each scored 11. The Red Raiders were 11 of 18 from the free throw line. In other games, it was Almont 45, Yale 35Cass City 61, Harbor Beach 44 and Unionville-Sebewaing 53, Ubly 25.
In girls play, Brown City picked up another win last night rolling past Vassar 51-18 in non-conference play. Kendal Muxlow had a great night for the Lady Green Devils, ripping the nets for 37 points and six rebounds. Becki Krause chipped in with 9 pts, 7 assists and 5 rebounds and Lexi Crenshaw grabbed 9 rebounds.
Elsewhere, it was Almont 39, Yale 26Birch Run 57, Caro 14, Frankenmuth 67, North Branch 21, Millington 54, Otisville Lakeville 40 behind 20 points from Hannah Hall and Peck beat Deckerville 37-32.
In a GTC-East showdown tonight on WTGV 97.7 FM with John Presnell and Dave Fredrick, the Brown City Green Devils visit Sandusky with the pre-game show at 7 p.m. Other GTC-East games have Ubly at Memphis and Marlette is at Harbor Beach. In the GTC-West #3 Reese travels to Cass City, USA is at Vassar and Bad Axe goes to Lakers. In the only other game scheduled, Port Huron Northern is at Grosse Point North in MAC play.
On the boys side, in NCTL contests, it’s Deckerville at Caseville, Mayville goes to Peck and Kingston is at C-PS. In the Tri-Valley, North Branch will go to Caro.
In high school wrestling action this week, Cass City scored a 66-12 win over Sandusky with eight pins. Wining for Sandusky were Jacob Horst at 145 lbs. and William Hartz at 171 lbs. Horst pinned his man in just :48 while Hartz won by pin in 1:28.
In high school bowling tonight, Brown City will be at Bad Axe, Ubly is at Cass City, USA is at North Huron, Harbor Beach at Reese and at Liberty Lanes in Sandusky, the Redskins will host Carsonville-Port Sanilac
