BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Peck held first place Dryden to just four points in the first half, leading 20-4 and held off a Cardinal rally to post a 40-38 upset win. Chris Beurman paced the Pirate scoring with 13 points and Dylan Dankenbring added 12. The Pirates have a huge game with C-PS Friday night with first place bragging rights on the line. WTGV will be there for all the action, with pre-game at 7 p.m.
Carsonville-Port Sanilac kept pace with the Pirates, setting the stage for Friday’s big NCTL showdown with a 55-50 win over North Huron. Tony Nugent led the winners with 19 points while Matt Koth tossed in 19 for North Huron.
Kingston built a 44-35 lead after three quarters and slipped past Deckerville 55 to 48 to put themselves back in the thick of the NCTL title chase. Garrett Green fired in 19 points and nathan Cloyd had 13 to pace the Cardinals. Deckerville was led by Keaton Bowerman’s 15 points and Austrin Fritch added 13.
Owendale-Gagetown had 18 points and 17 rebounds from David Binder to pace the Bulldogs to a 48-38 win over New Haven Merritt Academy.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Sandusky had three players in double figures to lead the Lady Redskins to their 13th straight win, a 62-43 win over Marlette. Haley Nelson led the way with 17 points, Jess Kursinsky scored 14 and Madysen Jansen added 12.
Brown City looked a bit sluggish in their first game since an upset win over Marlette last week, slipping past Memphis 34-23. Kendal Muxlow and Carleigh Randolph scored 10 points apiece and the Lady Green Devils finished 14 of 25 from the line.
Harbor Beach had 12 points apiece from Jenna Arndt and Justine Roggenbuck to pick up a 56-44 GTC-East win over Ubly. The Bearcats had 11 points from Jessica Weber.
