A 40-year old Caseville woman sustained fatal injuries in a two-vehicle accident in Huron County’s Chandler Township around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. According to Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson, deputies responded to the intersection of Dunn Rd and Maxwell Rd. after a pickup being driven by 22-year old Todd Babbitt of Caseville, failed to stop at the intersection. The two vehicles collided, claiming the life of Sheila Iseler at the scene.
A passenger in the Babbitt vehicle, 21-year old Shawn Babbitt, was freed from the wreckage with the Jaws of Life from the Windsor Twp. Fire Department.
He and his brother Todd were both transported to Scheurer Hospital where Shawn was later flown by helicopter with life threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
