A 30-year old Peck man was arrested by Michigan State Police for his alleged involvement in what they say is a case of harassment and extortion. Troopers responded to a residence in Deckerville Sunday where a 30-year old woman reported an unknown man contacted her via Facebook Messenger claiming to be a police officer. Police said the man threatened to come arrest her unless she provided him with explicit photographs of herself.
Troopers were able to obtain the identity of the suspect and arrested him on multiple charges. On Tuesday, Andrew Mayer, was arraigned on charges stemming from this case, in the 73A District Court in Sandusky.
He was charged with Computers-Using to Commit a Crime, Extortion, and Impersonating a Police Officer to Commit a Crime.
