More jobs are coming to Sanilac County. Over the next three years, Huron Inc., in Worth Township is planning on expanding it’s workforce by over 40%. The business is planning a 40,000 square foot expansion set to begin this spring, bringing the total work-space to nearly 200,000 square feet.
The company hopes to have the $2.6 million dollar expansion completed this fall and will hire more than 180 workers over the three year span. An electrical fire in 2013 damaged a large portion of the business, but it has since recovered, growing in production ever since then.
The facility produces engine and transmission parts and has new contracts to manufacture parts related to turbocharger cooling systems. The increased work will require more space and more employees. The contact for work is to fulfill orders for 2019 and 2020 model car years.
