The Port Sanilac Fire Authority Adhoc committee will be meeting Thursday night at Bark Shanty to continue their work on the formation of the Sanilac East Fire Authority.
The group has been meeting for over a year to work out details and appears poised to make the Authority a reality in coming weeks. If details can be worked out, the Townships of Forrester and Sanilac will join with the Village of Port Sanilac for fire coverage.
Sticking points in the deal are basically financial as the entities decide how to best share the cost of the fire service.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
