The following is a press release from the Sanilac County Drug Task Force:
(Sandusky) – The Sanilac Drug Task Force investigators assisted the Bad Axe Police Department and Huron County Sheriff’s Office in locating and arresting a 22 year old male from Croswell on Thursday afternoon, May 18th. The arrest was made on S. Elk Street in the City of Sandusky.
The suspect was wanted in regards to a theft of money from a business in Huron County. The Drug Task Force also provided additional assistance the following day at 218 S. Elk Street (May 19th) on a search warrant looking for evidence pertaining to the crime in Huron County.
During this search the investigators located signs of suspected heroin use and a subsequent search warrant for narcotics at the home was obtained.
Besides the 22 year old that had been at the house prior to his arrest, investigators made contact with the 43 year old female living there and a 45 year old female / 53 year old male were indicated as just visiting.
Seized from the home on the follow up search warrant was marijuana, scales, packaging materials, and physical evidence of suspected Heroin possession and use along with suspected Crack Cocaine use.
The drug evidence seized will be sent into the crime lab for testing with follow up investigation and charges connected to the drug related findings pending.
The initial assistance was given to Bad Axe Police and Huron County Sheriff investigators. Also involved in the completion of the two search warrants were the St. Clair County Sheriff’s K-9 Team, Sandusky Police Department and the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Uniform Services Division
