(Bad Axe) – An active meth lab was dismantled in the city of Bad Axe early Friday morning, following a two week investigation by police. According to reports, members of the Sanilac County Drug Task Force team, who have specialty training in the dismantling of meth labs, assisted Bad Axe police and the Huron County sheriff department. Neighbors said the home was licensed as an active daycare facility.
Bad Axe fire department stood by while the DTF agents took apart the lab. Police were interviewing several people outside of the home and will continue the investigation into possible arrests and charges.
Whitelam Street was closed to traffic for several hours during the police activity.
