Sanilac County Road Commission Engineer Robb Falls says despite all of the rain in recent weeks, paving projects throughout the county continue as planned with few delays.
Deckerville Road, in northern Sanilac County is the largest project underway.
Falls said three other major projects, including the paving of Old 51 from Carsonville to Croswell, will have bids opened later Friday.
The Old 51 work is expected to begin this fall.
In other road commission business, the board received good news Wednesday morning, when their auditor reported them to be in good financial shape.
The County Road Commission is above state average in many categories and had a fund balance of over $5 million dollars at the end of 2016.
After a year of more revenue than expenditures in 2015, the road commission was on a level playing field for the two categories in 2016. 66% of revenue for the road commission came through state and local funding while 49% of that was expended on primary roads.
The Road Commission is on the hook for over $7 million dollars in pension funding.
