A four-alarm car fire near Imlay City turned into a much bigger problem Friday afternoon when the vehicle’s driver parked near a business to escape the raging flames. According to police, the 19-year old Imlay City man said he and two passengers were driving north on VanDyke Road around 4 p.m. when he experienced mechanical issues. The car erupted into flames and spread to Lindy’s, a large vegatable business, causing over $75,000 worth of damage to the building. Imlay City fire was assisted by Goodland, Almont, and Attica Townships.
