(Evergreen Township) – Sanilac Central Dispatch received numerous 911 calls around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday reporting a southbound vehicle on M53 north of Deckerville Rd in Evergreen Twp.
Callers advised the vehicle was forcing traffic on the opposite side of the road to nearly have to go in the ditch to avoid an accident. Five motorists traveling in the same vicinity were able to get the vehicle to pull over, prior to Marlette PD arriving.
Once that officer arrived on scene, he advised dispatch that all of the subjects were acting aggressive towards each other and asked for additional assistance.
Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies, assisted by Michigan State Police, and Sandusky Police Department arrived on scene a short time later to assist.
A 42 year old male from New Baltimore was taken into custody for Operating Under the Influence while a 40-year old female passenger from Shelby Township was cited for Possession of Marijuana in addition to Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle.
