Worth Township officials received the news they have been waiting for last week, learning the extra funding needed for the pending sewer project has been approved. The project, expected to cost nearly $42 million, could begin as soon as this fall after the United States Department of Agriculture agreed to cover an additional $17 million in costs. The price tag is nearly double what the estimated costs was thought to be when the project was first brought to the table in 2013.
Over $30 million worth of federal loan money will have to be repaid by around 1,500 property owners, meaning a charge of $18,000 parcel to be paid back over a maximum of 30 years.
