Ubly school district voters go to polls in August

Ubly School district voters to go to the polls

940 Sanilac County voters in the Ubly school district will be among the few going to the polls in a few weeks, helping decide the outcome of two millage proposals by the district.
Ballot language was approved on a 20 year – 1.7 mill increase that would allow for expansion of buildings and improvements to technology and athletic facilities.
Voters are also being asked to consider a 10-year, 2 mill sinking fund millage, that if approved, would allow for construction, repair of school district buildings and security systems, along with other items.
If the proposal is successful, it would generate $490,000 in the first year.
Sanilac County voters from Austin, Argyle, Delaware, Greenleaf and Mind City townships who are in the Ubly school district will go to the polls August 8th.
A central voting location at the Argyle Township Hall on Ubly Road will be used for those Sanilac County voters.
