Silver Lining nominations being accepted

(Sandusky) – The Sanilac County Community Foundation and Sandusky Chamber of Commerce are seeking nominations for the 24th annual Silver Lining Awards and Sandusky Citizen of the Year celebration. The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 28th at 6 p.m. at Woodland Hills Golf Course in Sandusky. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017.
The Silver Lining awards are designed to recognize adults and young people whose volunteer efforts have greatly improved the quality of life for the people of Sanilac County.
Both individuals and groups may be nominated for recognition of their volunteer activities. Awards are given in the following categories: youth individuals, youth groups, adult individuals, adult groups, and businesses.
This year, we are collaborating with the Sandusky Chamber of Commerce to award the Citizen of the Year as well.
All honorees will receive a Silver Lining Certificate. One youth individual, one youth group, one adult individual/family, one adult group and one business will be selected to receive a 2017 Silver Lining Crystal Award.
The Romney Award is given to honorees that have been nominated five separate years and the Stan Fetting Heart of Gold Award is given to honorees that have been nominated ten separate years.
