(TUSCOLA COUNTY) – In a follow-up to a story broadcast Monday, Tuscola County Prosecutor Mark Reene said in a press release that a local veterinarian, in conjunction with a Michigan Department of Agriculture Field Veterinarian examined a 10-year old horse on in Millington Tuesday afternoon.
Following the exam and discussing the matter with the owner, the horse was euthanized. The horse had been under a prescribed course of treatment for a long period of time, due to a medically diagnosed condition.
A passerby had alerted authorities to the horse’s condition after driving by a farm on Barnes Road last weekend.
