(CROSWELL) – Missing firearms that were stolen from a Sanilac County residence have been found, following an investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff Department and Croswell police.
According to the sheriff department, the two agencies received information leading them to property owned by the City of Croswell Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators found disturbed ground and dug down about a foot and discovered 15 handguns. A check of the handguns confirmed suspicions they were all stolen from a residence in Croswell in 2011.
The handguns will be sent to crime lab for analysis while the case remains under investigation.
