The Sanilac County sheriff department is mourning the loss of K-9 Deputy Adam who served the department from 2006 until his medical retirement in 2014.
The German Shephard, imported from Poland and partnered with Detective Sergeant Nathan Smith, passed away Saturday.
Smith and Adam attended and graduated from the Mid-Michigan Kennels Basic/Advanced Police K-9 Academy certifying in Narcotics, Tracking and Protection.
After retirement Adam went on to live a peaceful life with D/Sgt .Smith and his family until his passing last weekend.
