Five candidates announced for Sanilac County Administrator/Controller

(SANILAC COUNTY) – The five candidates names for the Sanilac County Administrator/Controller have been made public, after two candidates that had requested confidentiality agreed to continue with the interview process.
From the 25 applications received, the Board of Commissioners have selected Larry Collins, current Assistant County Administrator/Controller for the City of Ann Arbor; Larry O’Keefe, Village Manager of Port Sanilac; Troy Feltman, Village Manager in Cheasaning, Craig Horton, current Assistant County Administrator/Controller for Lapeer County and Tarra Griffith who currently works for the Sanilac County Health Department.
Collins has helped oversee Ann Arbor’s $320 million dollar budget and 750 employees, working as the Assistant City Administrator the past year. He also serves as the City’s Fire Chief and is responsible for Emergency Management and Preparedness.
Feltman has worked in Chesaning since 2014 and has helped secured over $three million dollars in grant funding for the community. He also spent five years as Administrator/Controller of St. Clair County and was an Administrator/Controller in Gratiot County.
Griffith has served as Director of Finance for the Sanilac County Health Department sine 2014, securing grant funding for the department and was a Financial Analyst for EB Eddy Paper Mill in Port Huron.
Horton has worked for Lapeer County since 1990 and is currently the County’s Director of Fiscal Services and Assistant County Administrator/Controller. He has managed payroll and benefits for over 500 employees and helped manage a $60 million dollar budget.
O’Keefe has been Village Manager of Port Sanilac since 2013, coming to Michigan from previous employment in Ohio. He was Environmental Services Director for St. Clair County for 10 years and has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii.
Interviews will be held Wednesday in the Commissioner’s meeting room in the County Courthouse, beginning at 9 a.m. Current Administrator/Controller Kathy Dorman is retiring at the end of the year.
