The Sanilac County Board of Commissioners has selected their next Administrator/Controller
Sanilac County has their new Administrator/Controller. The Board of Commissioners had intended to interview two candidates Tuesday afternoon in hopes of selecting a replacement for Kathy Dorman who is retiring at the end of the year. However, after Larry Collins withdrew his name from consideration late last week, Commissioners made the hiring of Tara Griffith official Tuesday, after a brief interview.
Griffith, currently the Finance Director for the County Health Department, was meeting with two commissioners following the meeting to work out contract details.
The job had been advertised with a salary of between 75,000 and 95,000 dollars plus benefits. Grifith told t he board she has extensive finance and budgeting experience from previous employment.
Commissioners said they had a conversation with Ann Arbor Assistant Administrator/Controller Larry Collins last Friday and determined the County would not be able to meet his needs, if he were selected.
Griffith was one of three finalists for the position, and the only person left standing when is came time to fill the County’s top position.
Commission Chairman John Hoffman said he hopes Griffith can begin working to learn the job with Dorman in the coming weeks.
