Cass City school officials have decided to pass on the offer to purchase the former Baker College campus, citing financial reasons and having no immediate plan as to what to do with the building. While the purchase price of one dollar was cheap enough, the district also knew they would be facing an annual upkeep cost of at least $20,000, money they don’t have. Instead, school district personnel say they are going to focus on the upcoming millage request and work to get information our to the district’s residents.
