A proposed high school hockey co-op in Huron and Sanilac counties is gaining steam and despite the hesitancy of the Huron County Hockey Association to support them, plans are moving forward with local schools. In Sanilac County, Sandusky, Marlette, Deckerville and Croswell-Lexington have all approved taking part in the program. Players from Ubly, Bad Axe and Laker are still hoping to join with members from the south to play on the Eastern Thum Region Hockey team. The group has the blessing of the Sanilac County Hockey Association and will use the Colleen J Howe Ice Arena as their host rink.
