A Huron County sheriff deputy helped rescue a woman following a one vehicle crash near Bad Axe early Monday morning. According to police, the woman was traveling on Barrie Road, near M-142 around 7 a.m. when she lost control and went into a ditch, landing upside down. The unidentified driver was trapped in the wreckage before being freed by the deputy and taken by EMS to Huron Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Bad Axe Firemen also assisted assisted on the scene. The area is still recovering from a weekend ice and snowstorm that left road conditions poor in some areas.
