Poor road conditions are being blamed for a fatal accident in Lapeer County over the weekend. According to the Lapeer County Sherif Department, a 20-year old Clio man died of his injuries following the accident Saturday afternoon in Rich Township. Deputies were called to M-24, near Fostoria area where Nickolas Drwal lost control of his vehicle due to icy roads around 2 p.m. The vehicle traveled across the road and left the roadway, striking a driveway culvert causing the vehicle to rollover. The vehicle eventually struck a tree and came to rest on its roof in the ditch. Drwal was alone in the vehicle and was taken to McLaren Hospital in Lapeer, where he later died.
