Added Security Could be Headed For Cros-Lex Schools

The Croswell-Lexington school board is considering spending nearly a quarter of a million dollars to add security cameras throughout their campus. If approved, it would be the second major step the district has taken with added security, after $20,000 was raised locally to purchase classroom door locks. Board members have been asked to consider the camera purchase to allow administration and local police real-time access to video feeds and monitor students. As many as 200 cameras would monitor the district’s buildings, if the board decides to move forward with the proposal. Technology to support the cameras, and the cameras themselves, are expected to cost around $225,000.
