A six-alarm fire destroyed a Greenleaf Township family’s trailer home in northwest Sanilac County around noon Tuesday. The blaze is believed to have started in the area of a furnace room, leaving a mother and small children looking for a different home. Fire officials said the home on North VanDyke Road, near Ritter Road, is thought to be a total loss, despite efforts of firemen from Cass City, Argyle, Gagetown, Bingham-Ubly, Bad Axe and Elkton-Oliver. The Red Cross was called to assist family members.
