Deidre Mitchell, 46, of Port Huron was convicted of stealing from a local Little League last year and this morning, she pleaded guilty to another embezzlement charge of taking $20,000 to $50,000 under false pretenses from the State. Mitchell agreed to plea to the embezzling charge, as well as pay more than $35,000 in restitution. Mitchell told the court she was over saw various tasks for Medilodge of Yale and was in contact with patients’ families. She had seven families write checks they believed were to pay down accounts for patients to reside at the facility and remain eligible for Medicaid. Instead, the checks were diverted into the Little League’s account.
