Suspects Sentenced in Torture Case

Four of the six people who pleaded guilty to torturing a man they accused of stealing their medical marijuana have been sentenced, according to court records. A fifth man, Frankie Suratt, 48, of Avoca, will be sentenced Friday on multiple charges including unlawful imprisonment while a sixth man, Coleman Suratt, 40, of Greenwood Township, will be sentenced in May on similar charges. The six suspects charged with torture all plead guilty. The alleged victim, Jeremy Tallmadge of Port Huron, testified the defendants detained him in October of 2017 at a home on Hewitt Road in Greenwood Township where he was beaten and threatened with a shotgun.
